The Work-Structured Day Clubhouse members take ownership of running the daily activities of the organization while simultaneously participating in their own recovery process. Members volunteer their time in all aspects of TGP including administration, intake and orientation, outreach, public relations, clubhouse maintenance and advocacy. Every day at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., unit meetings are held to discuss activities of the unit for that portion of the day and to assign duties to members.
Employment Our ultimate mission is not for clubhouse members to stay here all day every day. Instead, we want them to be out in the community working or volunteering and living as independently and self-sufficiently as possible. To this end, we offer an Employment Program. Our Employment Program assists members who are ready to rejoin the workforce through paid employment or volunteer positions. Staff assists clubhouse members with resumes, applications and interview preparation. Staff members also provide support and motivation once a member is employed and often visits employers to advocate for the clubhouse member and help resolve issues that arise.
Wellness Our Certified Health Education Specialist works with clubhouse members to create monthly wellness challenges and provides regular seminars on issues that are vital to our community such as Medication Management, Daily Living Skills Training, Symptom Management, and Healthy Diet and Exercise.
Socialization Every member that attends participates in the activities of the clubhouse on some level, whether it is making outreach calls to members who have not attended in a few days, washing windows, baking a cake for another member’ s birthday, running our retail food and beverage shop, staffing the library, or assisting staff with administrative duties. These activities are performed alongside other clubhouse members, building self esteem and confidence when interacting with others. In addition to these daily activities, TGP also offers socialization activities in the form of Friday Fun Nights. These consist of competitive games, prizes, movies and food. Members play an active role in planning and implementing all of these socialization activities, which strengthens relationships as well as builds self-esteem and planning and implementation skills.
